Profile

Desen Kirli is a lecturer and Elizabeth Georgeson Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. She combines expertise in energy systems and engineering with a focus on communities and solutions that could reduce energy poverty while leveraging the UK's intermittent renewable electricity. Her work centres on energy modelling, smart contracting and local energy markets. Among other achievements, she won the Scottish Renewables Young Professionals Green Energy Award.
